Title of the story: "Blue life Around"

Hey, I'm back after a break starting my second year of learning design at IIAD. I'll cut chase to the topic here, we were told to do a little storytelling this time around because well, as designers we need to be creative and expand our imagination to infinity and beyond. (Sorry about the lame pun)

I wrote this work mixing all my dreams altogether. By the way, I love writing and reading books, adding a little about myself over there too. I love this a lot, I hope you enjoy it and are able to visualize the situations.

Happy reading:))

"This place looks eerie maybe it's a bad idea and I should ju-"

Her feet slipped mid-sentence, she let out a loud gasp and the next second found herself floating in the air. Her words got stuck in her throat as if someone snatched her vocal cords away. Widening her eyes she felt a tight grip around her legs and feet. Something bizarre pierced through her skin when frantically she started looking around in desperate need of help. On her right side, she saw a bright blue flame blinding her vision from the contemporary world.

Abruptly she felt a pull from the blue side and the gnawing grip on her body kept tightening up every second. She closed shut her eyes, wanting this ghastliness to end.

Her head still whirling from the spirals of the pathway she came down through, slowly she tried to open her eyes when her strained vision met with darkness once again. She could hear her own racing heart. She gulped it down as if it jumped up to her throat.

Standing up with her noodle legs she took a deep breath coughing right away because of the exceedingly bad proportion of dust particles in the air. Her vision began to adapt to the darkness.

Nothing. She saw nothing within her eye range.

"Well, shit" her voice came out hoarse.

Her echo came around alarming her already frightened soul. Her legs gave up and she fell to the sticky ground. The coldness of either the low temperature down there or the eerie aura developed goosebumps on her skin.

"Mama I'll do better I p- promise I-” stuttering she felt her eyes dampening. Closing her eyes she let out soft sobs thinking over about the crisis she got herself into.

Screeching noises, she finds herself having episodes of people crossing her over, in a hurry running out of time, hitting her shoulder with a strong intensity as if she was invisible to them. Several hands crawled onto her body.

Standing alone in the dark, cold and blue she placed her palms on her ears, losing her voice again and opened her eyes, finding a newfound calmness in this strange place speaking to her.

She flinched thinking she heard something apart from her breathing.

It sounded like water cascading down at a fast pace from a high threshold.

The moon hung low in the sky, casting ribbons

of light that snaked through the dark. Standing on the shadowy side of the coin.

Grabbing that as a tiny ray of hope she stood up again with support ignoring how her body is laterally giving up on her.

She had been walking for what felt like an hour towards the noise of the water. The noise intensified every mile she walked, making her believe that she was nearing it.

There it was a bright blue waterfall, blue like a bright sunny sky but contradictory cold.

She was so mesmerised by the beauty. It felt like ages since she's seen something that sounds as beautiful and calm as it looks in the worldly vision.

She heard a plop sound from above and tilted her head in the upwards direction. Perplexed, looking at the swords, she neared her hand towards the two items in the air and her hand went through not being able to touch them. One of the swords, blue in colour, has an icy texture around the blade and the other is magical purple with white smoke around it. Remembering how the movies go, she figured she had to choose one out of the two and that decision would have an effect on this current situation or maybe even if she’s lucky enough to get back to the previous world.

She looked at the blue sword on the left and turned her head around to look at the same colour in the geometric designs of this world. Turning back around she thought maybe she had to choose the purple one to get out of this strangeness. Looking back and forth from both the swords she blinked her eyes towards the waterfall and she was in shock at the picture in front of her. It was her reflection from the back with the blue sword in her hand. The reflection stabbed herself letting out a pained scream startling her. Her reflection fell down. The particular scene started all over again. It was on loop.

Her heart rate increased, and she started panting. Did she want to stay in this world forever? Was the contemporary world’s cruelty too much to bear that the unknown coldness astonishes her?

She opened her eyes, sitting up on her bed in an instant. Breathing heavily. Not being able to process this she looked around sighing in relief. Her heart rate was still speedy, she wasn’t able to differentiate reality from dream. Calming down after a few minutes she tried to shift towards the headboard of her bed when she felt a stinging sensation on her stomach. Letting out whimpers she lifted her shirt a bit, widening her eyes she saw a wound with blood oozing out.
